Many people have their annual re-set on January 1. Not me. My new year, my fresh start, begins with the start of the new academic year. Don’t even get me started on school supplies: new notebooks and pens. And books. I swoon. It’s the opening of the learning season —
This year, I’m starting my year not just watching my kids go back to school, but going back to school myself. I’m back in graduate school studying counseling psychology, in an effort to advance my skills in working with people who live in bodies — yes, you. That’s literally everyone. I’m interested in backstory, the chronic and the traumatic, and the stuff that makes your brain tell your body to feel a certain way and do a certain set of things — some of which make you feel good and some of which clearly don’t. Strength and flexibility are things to consider, but what about alignment and ease?
Coinciding with my new school year is the beginning of my new work year and my new website. There will be (already are) glitches because I’m doing this myself. So be gentle, just like I’ll ask you to be with yourself. I’m moving from just teaching yoga to working with people more deeply on inner landscape — maybe it’s just physical, maybe not. So I’m interested in your Inner Space Wellness. We can talk about here or we can do it in person, but either way, let’s do it. I will probably ask more questions than I will give answers.
